2003 Block of the Month

This Block of the Month is designed for the beginning quilter to help them learn to quilt. Some of the quilting skills that will be learned and reinforced during the course of the year include: accurate 1/4" seams, strip-piecing, half-square triangles, and quarter-square triangles. In addition to the monthly block, there will also be instructions for bonus blocks through-out the year. At the end of the year there will be ideas given for finishing the quilt. Block instructions should be available by the second Saturday of each month.

Fabric Choices: These blocks may be made using scraps or may be made using a Focus Fabric and two or more coordinating fabric choices. The picture below shows the fabrics I'm using to make the sample blocks.

Yardage Needed: Focus Print - 1 Yard Background - 2 Yards Coordinate(s) - 1 Yard total, at least 2 colors needed Note: Yardage amounts needed are estimated high so that you don't end up short and so that the bonus blocks may be made if wanted.
